Grant to support Trusted Mentors’ Behind the Mask Fundraiser

INDIANAPOLIS – Today Trusted Mentors announces the kick-off of Behind the Mask, a virtual fundraiser to support the organization’s mission to pair mentors with at-risk adults to help them stay housed and out of the correctional system.
The two-week long event is supported by a $10,000 grant donation by title sponsor Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) Indiana and strives to hit a $50,000 total fundraising goal. From today through October 3, local celebrities wearing costume masks will drop clues about their identities on social media, encouraging participants to join in the fun and contribute to Trusted Mentors. The Big Reveal will be held at Chef JJ’s on October 3 with a limited number of in-person attendees.
“As we find ourselves in uncertain and unprecedented times, Trusted Mentors had to get creative with our fundraising efforts and ultimately decided to shed light on individuals we mentor who wear “masks” every day to hide the pain of challenging life situations,” said Trusted Mentors Executive Director and Founder Jeri Warner. “We are thankful for the generous support of our community sponsors, including RALI, and for the enthusiasm we have already experienced around this event. We are confident this will be a big hit and generate much-needed funds for our programs.”
RALI’s support is aiding Trusted Mentors’ mission to respond to a vital need in Indianapolis to help people in poverty and at high risk of homelessness achieve stable housing, and progress to self-sufficiency.

Trusted Mentors uses the power of mentoring to help adults establish stable lives by reducing the chaos brought by homelessness, under-employment, and the effects of incarceration. The organization accomplishes its mission by providing training to mentors, matching adults with trained mentors and fostering ongoing and meaningful relationships between mentors and mentees.
